History of Collingwood

Collingwood is one of the oldest settlements in Golden Bay, originally known as Gibbstown before being renamed in 1857 after Admiral Lord Collingwood. Though fires destroyed many of its historic buildings, the town still carries a strong sense of heritage, reflected in its museum, streetscape, and community spirit.
