Golden Bay Map
On the Golden Bay Map The Station House Motel is situated in the heart of Golden Bay in the sleepy little town of Collingwood at 7 Elizabeth St, Collingwood.
With such a central and prime position you can leave the car and easily walk to all local attractions that Collingwood has on offer including beautiful beaches, incredible cafes – including The famous Courthouse Cafe, many amazing walking tracks, delightful Rozy Glow Chocolates, historic Langford Store and the ever popular Farewell Spit. We are located just a 30 second walk away from the Farewell Spit Tour office.
Collingwood is 2 hours driving from Nelson.
Drive from Nelson towards Motueka taking State Highway 60. Passing Motueka, continue over the Takaka Hill, the ‘Marble Mountain’, into Golden Bay, then pass through Takaka to Collingwood, near Farewell Spit, the sandy tip of scenic Golden Bay. Takaka Hill takes about 45 mins and is very windy so extra care is needed, it is better to drive slowly and let the faster cars pass, there are alot of pull overs to do this. There are also plenty of magnificant lookouts that should be visited on the way so give yourself a little more time for this.
