The Courthouse Cafe

The Courthouse Cafe is a small sophisticated café located at 11 Elizabeth St, Collingwood, Golden Bay in beautiful New Zealand. Built in 1901 when Collingwood was beginning to boom with the discovery of gold, the Courthouse Cafe used to be Collingwoods Courthouse prior to its current use. This cute, child friendly cottage is over 100 years old and has recently undergone modern refurbishment giving it a light and spacious feel. The Courthouse cafe location provides a real country experience. It’s quirky in a nice way, homely and friendly.

The Courthouse Cafe staff are very friendly, offering and delivering fantastic service and of course maintaining a clean and tidy environment all the time. This ensures individual customer satisfaction and this is among the qualities that makes the Café stand out not just in Collingwood, but in New Zealand at large.  Anybody who has visited the Courthouse Café will readily tell you about the amazing coffee. Fantastic, well brewed, lovely, on point, out of this world are just but a few of the phrases you will hear from those who have been fortunate enough to experience the Courthouse Café’s coffee. The Mocha and the Latte is simply awesome.

Due to the need to accommodate the varying visitors’ need as much as possible, the menu of The Courthouse Café is widely varied. You wouldn’t want to miss a few dishes which have featured in numerous reviews. The Cinnamon roll has been described as a winner. The Chocolate cake which is flour free has been described as “soo soo good.” Don’t forget the Pizza which is sold Sat nights offering a platform to sample the delicacies as well as socialize with the visitors or the guys from the local.

There’s an exquisite outdoor garden which offers a perfect place to take a break after a long drive. In friendly Golden Bay weather, you can sit outside and enjoy the good sun. The space is adequate for picnics with friends and family and you can stay for as long as you want enjoying the outdoor ambience and at the same time sampling their menu. Nevertheless the interior decor entails some amazing artwork and you should never fail to take a look at the memorabilia whenever you visit.

Something worth mentioning is that the Courthouse Café is located right next door to the ex-police station which is now The Station House Motel. Hence there is no cause to worry about a late Saturday pizza night since accommodation is right next door. By the virtue of the first class experience visitors get at the Courthouse Café, The Station House Motel also provides similar services to its customers.
